This position is IN NIS Chemical primarily responsible for coordinating, implementing and supporting process, chemical, environmental, and safety programs for a 535 MW combined cycle natural gas fired power generating Candidate should be able to support the plant and corporate management teams with strategic chemical, environ8mental, and safety (CES) compliance operation, planning and program development to further improve the plant #39;s CES programs and operational performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following;other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Review, analyze and evaluate station chemistry and environmental.
  • Provide oversight and direction for station chemical and environmental compliance programs.
  • Coordinate implementation of NiSource CES policies and procedures. Conduct periodic reviews of the plant#39;s CES programs and update as necessary to meet applicable regulations and/or corporate directives.
  • Administer the CES programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations including corporate and plant standards
  • Review, update, and train plant employees on applicable plant emergency response plans, spill prevention plans, fire prevention plans, risk management plans, storm water pollution prevention plans, and other site-specific CES plans.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies and corporate personnel as necessary to address environmental reporting, deviations, and notices of non-compliance.
  • Coordinate and/or perform required environmental reporting and testing activities and ensure that required environmental programs and permits are properly implemented and that the plant maintains full compliance with all permits.
  • Ensure that quarterly plant safety inspections and periodic environmental program reviews are performed and corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Conduct and coordinate injury and near-miss investigations and generate related reports focusing on the root cause and ensuring that corrective measures are identified and implemented.
  • Interface with NiS NIS Chemical Source and Plant management teams to assist in developing and implementing plant annual CES plans, goals and strategies for improving chemical, environmental and safety performance.
  • Conduct, coordinate and track required chemical, environmental and safety related training through NiSourceiquest;s chemical, environmental and safety tracking systems.
