Monitoring And Evaluation

Read About Monitoring And Evaluation

Monitoring And Evaluation (M&E) Or what is also known as monitoring and evaluation is the process that aims to improve the current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact and help to improve performance and achieve results. It is mainly used to evaluate the performance of projects, institutions and programs developed by governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations. It also links plans and performance to future results.

Evaluation

The process is divided into two main tasks: monitoring and evaluation. An evaluation is a systematic and objective examination of the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and impact of activities in light of the objectives set. The idea in project evaluation is to isolate mistakes and not repeat them, and to emphasize and enhance the successful mechanisms of current and future projects.

An important goal of the evaluation is to provide recommendations and lessons for project managers and implementation teams that have worked on projects and for projects to be implemented and work on similar projects.

In addition, evaluations are also an indirect way to inform the donor about the activities carried out and to verify that the donated funds are well managed and spent with transparency. The evaluators are supposed to check budget lines, analyze them, and report the results in their work.

Monitoring

monitoring is a continuous assessment that aims to provide all stakeholders with detailed early information on the progress or delay of the planned activities and supervises the implementation phase of the activities. Its purpose is to determine whether planned outputs, outputs and schedules have been reached so that action can be taken to correct deficiencies as quickly as possible.

Importance of M&E

Although reviews are often retrospective, they are primarily intended to move forward. The evaluation applies lessons and recommendations to decisions about current and future programs. Evaluations can also be used to promote new projects, obtain support from governments, raise funds from public or private institutions, and inform the public about various activities.
